About Us Many companies use the "About Page" to talk about their history and mission. We wanted to try something a little different—we thought it would be more insightful to provide you with a testimonial from one of our clients. Pete Benson has worked with us on a regular basis for many years and describes our company and our work process far better than we ever could! "In 1997 I made my first call to Olympic Tree & Land Management, Inc. It was early in the afternoon on a late June day. A severe wind storm had just fractured a large white pine leaving it precariously perched over a tent platform. I moved the occupants to another tent and phoned Dan. Within 24 hours Dan and a crew were on the property, had taken down the tree and identified several others for immediate attention. I had used other tree services in the past; but for various reasons had always come away from each experience dissatisfied. My dissatisfaction with the previous services had to do with the unique application of where the tree work was to be done. Eagle Island operates as a children’s camp; and has been in continual operation since 1937. In addition, in 2005 the US Secretary of the Interior approved Eagle Island status as a National Historic Landmark. And as the name implies the camp is a remote destination only accessible by water. The combination of these three factors makes working at Eagle Island very challenging. Since 1997 I have had Dan and members of the Olympic Tree crew out at the camp several times. On each occasion every crew member has always demonstrated the highest standards of professionalism. Over the years hundreds of trees had been limbed, thinned, cabled and taken down. There has never been a single mishap. In addition, I have used Dan’s expertise on many occasions to provide solutions to various concerns. At Eagle Island we deal with single tree issues, tree covered program application areas and the overall health of managing a 30 acre mixed hardwood, forested island. If I was to use one word to describe the services we had received since 1997 I would use the word “professional”. It best describes not only the day to day application of the work being done but also the attitude and knowledge that is displayed on a daily and ongoing basis. Eagle Island is an exceptionally unique place. It is a children’s camp, a National Historic Landmark, a business and a place very dear to the hearts of thousands of adults and children the world over. The trees we manage on Eagle Island enhance not only the visual beauty of the property but also the program we have been providing for over 70 years. I only use businesses that I trust and individuals who display the highest standards of professionalism at all times. These are the two characteristics you can expect when you phone Olympic Tree."
